On the west of La Posada, you will find
one of the five sons of Carcassone:
the Puilaurens castle.
The castle is 697 meters high, on
a rocky crest that overhangs the Boulzane valley.
The unity is surrounded
from a mountains circus with slopes
covering of conifers.
Puilaurens played a role in the crusade
against the albigeois, because the castle
was a refuge for heretics and for
lords such as Guillaume of
Peyrepertuse.
No precise date is known regarding
the fall of Puilaurens. But in 1255 while
Quéribus was falling, Peyrepertuse was
already the royal property...
