The Ansignan Aqueduct

During their passage in the Fenouillèdes,
the Romans have built a lot
of diverse edifices, but the devastations caused by the
time have destroyed most of these building trades.

Though, the Ansignan aqueduct is an
emblematic edifice known in the whole world
for its exceptional conservation.

Built in the 3rd century, the entire work measures 170 meters
length and rises up, at the highest point,
at 15 meters above the water level.

This wonderful architecture
has crossed several centuries without obstructs,
and nowadays the aqueduct still feed the village.
