The Hermitage of Força Real

 

 

 

 

The Força Real is located on a rocky hill overhanging all
the Roussillon. From the top of its 507 meters high, the
sightpoint spreads from the cape of Port-Vendres to Leucate,
with a panorama spreading from the Agly valley to the Têt
valley. It is on this strategic place, serving as landmark for
the sailors, that the counts of the Roussillon built a signals
tower, in relation with the Tautavel one.

At the 20th century, the position of the rocky hook was a trump to build a hertzian relay that used by the whole Roussillon plain.
